Anesthesiology assistant

The work of an anesthesiology assistant also includes administering supportive therapy, for example, with intravenous fluids and cardiovascular drugs, adjusting anesthetic levels on a minute-to-minute basis, performing intra-operative monitoring, providing recovery room care, functioning in the intensive care unit. The AA may also be used in pain clinics or may participate in administrative and educational activities. They are trained efficiently to assist in CPR and other life saving procedures. Among their personality traits an anesthesiology assistant has to be very attentive, because they have to follow all the instructions of the anesthesiologist, they have to be dedicated, punctual and flexible. It is their duty to keep alert and pay close watch on the patients’ vital signs during a medical procedure. They have to keep a good record since the operation theatre at the time of a medical procedure is very hectic and a lot of pressure is there on the main doctors and anesthesiologist.
Since the demand of any medical practitioner is on the rise in this time and age irrespective of the area and location of the practicing professional. Hence, consecutively the demand for an anesthesiology assistant is also on the rise even though it might be less in sparsely populated areas the demand is high as there are always babies being born and surgeries being performed.
